Hooray, Hooray ... It's A Holi-Holiday!
Yayyy….it’s already mid-November! Then come December! Holiday season for me and my family. Time to spend our time together at our Malaysian home. A home is always a home, a
place where we always love to be *biiiiiig grin*
As Madonna says in her song -
"You
can turn this world around. And bring back all of those happy days.
Put your troubles down. It's time to celebrate. Let love
shine. And we will find. A way to come together. And make things better. We need a holiday!"
Yes indeed Madonna, we need it. We have the all-inclusive holiday
feelings every time December comes. I don’t want to write out the plan. I pray
that everything goes well, inn syaa Allah. Ya Allah, tunaikanlah segala
hajat-hajat kami sekeluarga, dan permudahkanlah segala urusan kami, Aamiin Ya
Rabb.
My 3 babies - Kaka, Luq and Fatima - flew off first with their Ayah.
Maya and I will be joining soon. And the best part is the 2 neneks will be coming too ... Yoohooo! Now let's enjoy this song by Boney M ... And meanwhile, I'm also sharing a simple fruit cocktail jelly recipe - My family's all-time favourite dessert!
Mummy Sinar’s Fruit Cocktail Jelly

Mummy Sinar’s Fruit Cocktail Jelly
Here's the recipe:
1 packet of jelly powder (I used the Red Man brand - white)
Water mixed with fresh milk to make 1 litre of
liquid
60g sugar (adjust quantity to your taste)
2 pandan leaves, tied into a knot
1 can of fruit cocktail
Few drops of vanilla essence
Dissolve jelly powder in the liquid in a pot.
Add in the sugar, pandan leaves and bring to boil. Do not leave it long, just
one or two boils will do. Remove pot from heat, then pour in the fruit
cocktail. Mix the mixture lightly. Pour
into a mould or in a container and leave to cool before refrigerating until
chilled.
Serve chilled.

Yeyy Yeyy Yeyy... Look Who's Cookin'?
Hey, someone's busy in the kitchen!
My kids and I get excited whenever ayah Cahaya is cooking. Yeah of course, you are talking about an expert. Tonight Cahaya prepared dinner. Yes, our favourite menu - Tenderloin Steak with a choice of black pepper sauce or mushroom sauce. Oh I got to choose chicken, because I'm eliminating meat in my diet this week.
PAnya biasalah, siapa lagi kalau bukan si-kecik...
Here, dinner's ready - Steak cooked and made simple.
And for dessert - My yummy oreo pudding and the famous mango ice cream from Philippines (beli di Hua Ho hehe ...)

Our Kokomi is Back!
Cahaya and I were the happiest parents in the world today. Our Kaka arrived from Melbourne after completing her study there, at Deakin University.
Syukur Alhamdulillah, terima kasih Ya Allah, kerana Engkau telah mendengar doa-doa kami, seorang anak kami telah berjaya menamatkan pengajiannya dan pulang ke tanah air dengan selamatnya.
(She was carrying her bantal bucuk with her in the plane...)
I remember when she left us for Melbourne in last February. It was an "empty nest" phenomenon for me. That wasn't the first time though. It wasn't a rollercoaster form of emotion, but enough to make me worried for almost everything! Her well-being in a place which was not so familiar to any of us. Allah Maha Pengasih lagi Maha Pelindung.
It was brilliant that in March, my boss took me to Melbourne on official visit, about 2 weeks after Kaka left us. Meloncatku kegembiraan. Itulah yang dikatakan rezeki. Anugerah rezeki dari Allah adalah dalam pelbagai rupa, seperti mana yang Allah kehendaki. Hebatnya Allah SWT. Aku bersujud syukur kepadaMu.

Hujan Rahmat, Ahlan Wasahlan Ya Ramadhan…
Hujan turun lagi membasahi bumi yang permai,
menyambut kedatangan Ramadhan Mubarak. Besok, maka datanglah 1 Ramadhan 1434.
Syukur
Alhamdulillah Ya Allah, kerana kita dipertemukan sekali lagi dibulanMu yang
suci, yang penuh dengan keindahan dan barakah. Semoga kita semua sama-sama
dapat menjalankan ‘ibadah puasa dengan baik, sempurna dan penuh keimanan, dan
semoga sentiasa dirahmati dan berada didalam perlindungan Allah SWT, Aamiin Ya
Rabbal ‘alamiin.
Bila bercakap tentang bulan puasa, kebiasaannya
yang paling sebok dalam rumah adalah sudah tentunya di bahagian dapur - bagi
penyediaan iftar. Siapa lagi menguasai dapur kalau bukan kita, para
isteri-isteri dan ibu-ibu?
Bagi saya yang suka memasak, resipi-resipi
tradisional akan secara automatis tercetus diminda. Apapun, prinsip yang utama
- Berbelanja dan memasak biar berhemah, jangan membazir ;-)
Anyway, petang semalam adalah
penting buat semua umat Islam baik di
sini maupun di Malaysia, waktu tengok anak bulan. Untuk makan malamnya saya
masak special untuk anak-anak ~ Udang
Galah Masak Lemak.
Hidang dengan Sambal Tumis Sardin... Oooohh sungguh menyelerakan. Senang saja resipinya:
Udang Galah Masak Lemak
5 ekor udang galah (Dibersihkan, cuci dan
toskan)
Sebiji buah tomato (Dibelah 4)
Cili padi hijau (Bagi yang suka pedas, ditumbuk
kasar)
Kacang panjang (Pakai 1 sahaja untuk hiasan -
Dipotong panjang-panjang)
Santan pekat (Saya gunakan santan chaokoh dari
Thailand - dalam setengah cawan)
Bahan kisar:
1 labu bawang merah besar
3 biji bawang putih
3 tangkai cili kering
1/2 inci halia
Serai (sama ada hendak diricik sahaja atau
diblender sekali)
Garam dan perasa secukupnya
Caranya - Tumis bahan-bahan kisar dalam minyak yang panas
hingga naik bau. Masukkan udang galah
dan gaul hingga separuh masak. Masukkan santan pekat dan campurkan sedikit air.
Bubuh cili api. Biarkan sebentar hingga udang masak. Masukkan buah tomato dan
kacang panjang. Sajikan bersama nasi.
Nota:
Lebih sedap jika dibubuh daun limau purut dalam 3 - 4 helai. Tapi
semalam saya kehabisan daun ini, so saya tak masukkan. Saya gunakan kacang buncis instead, atau akacang panjang pun boleh.
Anak-anak (Maya dan Fatimah) makan dengan enaknya. Esok-esok, resipi lainlah lagi…
Yang menggembirakan lagi, Cahayaku akan pulang
esok! Best bila Ayah dapat pulang untuk meraikan Ramadhan yang mulia, dan
seterusnya mengambil anak-anak untuk berangkat pulang to our KL home… Untuk
Syawal tahun ini, semua dah sepakat akan berhari raya di Kedah, di kampung halaman
Ayah.. Cool, sudah tentu seronok!

Alhamdulillah ... I'm Here
Alhamdulillah, I finally arrived! Terima kasih, Ya Rabbi.
Yipppppeeeeee! Cuti, cuti, cutiiiiiiii....!! Ya Allah, mulakanlah segalanya dengan baik, dan akhirilah juga semuanya dengan baik, aamiin.
